Kenangan Latte Kenangan Coffee IMM Review

Brought the family out to IMM and since we were already walking around, it felt like the perfect chance to finally try Kenangan Coffee. I have seen the brand around, but somehow never got down to ordering from them until this visit. I am honestly more of a tea person most of the time, but I do enjoy a good latte once in a while. The first thing that caught my attention was that the outlet did not feel like a quick grab-and-go drink kiosk. It had more of a proper cafe vibe, with ample seating space for customers to sit down, chill, and enjoy their coffee properly. For a mall outlet, that already made the experience feel a bit more relaxed.

I decided to go for the Kenangan Latte. Since it was my first time trying Kenangan Coffee, I thought it made sense to order something classic instead of jumping straight into the more adventurous drinks. I got it in size M, and the drink came up to $6.50 for one cup. Since it was my first time, I was able to use the 1 for 1 promo. If I remember correctly, there was no option to choose sugar level, which I would have really preferred. I also had it without toppings, which is how I usually prefer coffee drinks anyway. No pearls, no jelly, just the latte on its own.

The waiting time was quite normal, around 5 to 10 minutes. It was not super fast, but also not slow enough to make me sian. Considering it was at IMM and there were people around, I found the wait quite acceptable. The staff prepared the drink as expected, and my order came exactly the way I asked for it. Since there were no toppings and no special customisations, it was a pretty straightforward order. Service-wise, I would say it was neutral. Nothing particularly warm or memorable, but also nothing unpleasant. Just a normal, fuss-free transaction.

Taste-wise, the Kenangan Latte was actually pretty good. The coffee was strong, the kind Singaporeans would call gao, but thankfully it was not bitter in an unpleasant way. Some lattes can be very sharp or taste a bit burnt, but this one had a smoother finish. Compared to quite a few lattes I have tried so far, this one felt more high quality in the sip. There was a nice richness to it, and the coffee taste came through clearly without overpowering the milk. The balance was just right for me. It did not feel too milky, and it did not taste diluted either. I would describe it as a pretty well-balanced cup of brewed coffee.

What I appreciated was that the latte did not feel like it was trying too hard. It was simple, smooth, and easy to drink. Sometimes when a brand gets hyped up, I worry that the drink might end up being more marketing than substance, but this one was enjoyable. Since I usually buy drinks about once a week and already have around 2 to 3 favourite brands that I rotate between, I am quite selective about whether a new place is worth adding to the list. Kenangan Coffee has potential for me, especially if their other drinks are as smooth as this latte.

The cafe setup also makes a difference. If I were just grabbing a drink and rushing off, maybe I would not notice it as much. But because I was out with family, having a place with proper seating was a plus point. It is nice to have somewhere to rest for a while after walking around IMM, especially if you are with kids or family members who want to take a break. The space made it feel more comfortable than the usual drink counter experience.

Overall, I would give my Kenangan Latte experience a 4/5. It was a good first try, and I can see why people like the brand. The drink was strong, smooth, and well-balanced, with a cafe environment that made the visit more pleasant. I would definitely come back to try their other drinks next time. My only small wish is for Kenangan Coffee to open more outlets, especially in the heartlands. Not everyone goes to IMM often, and it would be great if more people could enjoy these drinks closer to home.
